The UNSC statement gave legal credence to the struggle of #SSC and the new administration of #SSC #Khaatumo. The #UNSC told Bihi administration you are a state in #Somalia and you have no legal authority to invade #SSC region.
- #Somali sovereignty and #Somali unity are also the winners. In the statement #UNSC not only told Muse Bihi that he needs to respect #Somali sovereignty and must behave like a governor, but the statement also communicated to the international community they must respect #Somali Sovereignty
- The people of #Awdal are winners in this. They now have a visible path to end the occupation of their region and build their own administration and possibly #FMShood
- The president of #Somalia is the second biggest winner. Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud delivered the biggest foreign policy victory in recent #Somali politics by securing the confidence of the #UNSC to reaffirm their commitment to respect #Somali sovereignty and #Somali political unity.
- Finally, the Somali people are the winners. The #UNSC gave a path forward for the #Somali people to reconcile and agree on a political unity. The UNSC closed the doors on #Somaliland’s #secessionism and asked the #Somali Federal Government to lead her people.
